60. A catalogue of a most capital collection of Italian, French, Flemish, and Dutch Pictures, by the most esteemed Masters, in the highest state of preservation : also a valuable selection of capital high-finished drawings, remarkable fine prints, books of prints and bronzes : small but well-chosen library of books in elegant and uniform bindings : a number of fine casts in plaster from the rarest subjects of the antique : capital models, a great variety of drawing implements : mathematical and musical instruments : a quantity of choice music : also all the elegant household furniture : fine china : a fine-toned piano forte by Longman and Broderip : a modern chaise and harness : and a great variety of curious and valuable effects : the property of John Alexander Gress, Esq. deceased, eminently and most deservedly distinguished for his knowledge in the fine arts, at his late house, No. 24, on the west side of Tottenham Court Road, nearly opposite Tavistock Street, Bedford Square : which will be sold by auction (by order of the executor) by Mr. Christie, on the premises, on Monday, April 7th, 1794, and five following days, at twelve o'clock : to be viewed Frida and Saturday preceding the sale.--catalogues may be had on the premises : at the Rainbow Coffee House : and in Pall Mall : also, at one o'clock, on the first day's sale, will be sold, the valuable lease of the premises--particulars may be had : N.B. the first and second days sale, will consist of prints, books of prints, &c. : third and fourth days, the drawings, drawing implements, models, &c. : fifth day, the capital collection of pictures, and library of books : sixth day, all the houshold furniture, china, musical instruments, &c.

67. A catalogue of a most superb, capital, and valuable collection of Italian, French, Flemish and Dutch pictures : the property of a Gentleman, highly distinguished for his taste in the arts : the whole selected with unbounded liberality, and now brought from his seat at Fonthill, in Wiltshire : consisting of inestimable works of the following great masters, viz : Spagnoletto, A. Durer, Sa. Rosa, Guido, Murillo, D. Feti, C. Lorrain, Seb. Bourdon, Canaletti, Zuccarelli, Rembrandt, Ostade, Wouvermans, Both, V. Der Heyde, C. du Jardin, Ruysdael, Wynants, De Vlieger, Polemborgh, Teniers, V. der Meulen, Webber, Loutherbeourg : among the celebrated pictures in this collection, are the following distinguished and capital : the Rape of Deianira, by Paduanino, one of the noblest efforts of genius in the Venetian School, both for colouring and design : the Holy Family, by Murillo, a very elegant composition, full of grace and simplicity : the Death of Socrates, by S. Rosa : a Landscape with St. Francis preaching : and a sea port by ditto : and Lucretia, by Guido, very capital : amongst the moderns, are eight capital and much distinguished pictures of the Rake's Progress, by the immoral Hogarth, esteemed the finest of his works : a pair of elegant and splendid cabinets, with the subjects of Cupid and Psyche, painted by Smirke : also four tripods, or exquisite workmanship : which will be sold by auction, by Mr. Christie, at his Great Room, Pall Mall, on Saturday, February the 27th 1802, at twelve o'clock.

A catalogue of a small but highly valuable assortment of original pictures, by the old masters of the most approved schools, selected by a gentleman whose taste and judgment in works of art and vertu are particularly esteemed : the collection embraces a splendid finished portrait of "Francis de Moncade, Marquis of Antrome" (Ambassador to Holland from the King of Spain) by Rembrandt, in his best time : a very valuable painting by Albano, "St. John preaching in the wilderness", in which are introduced, portraits of "Albano, his two wives and children" : "The Death of Queen Miriam", a highly finished painting by De Witt : ... views of Naples and florence, by the late John Smith : "Goats fighting", by Raphael : a very fine painting, "Shipping", by Vandevelde : a head of "Rubens", by Vandyke : portraits of "Queen Elizabeth" by Federigo Zucchero : "Earl of Essex" by Sir Antonio More : "Henrietta Maria" by Sir Peter Lely : "Napoleon", when first consul, by David ... : "Prince Charles Edward" by Vandermene : the "Wife of Berghem" : Nell Gwynn; Princess Clementina Maria, Wife of the chevalier St. George; and the poet "Goldsmith" - masters unknown : a pair of exquisitely finished "sea pieces", and others, by N. Poussin, Sir Peter Lely, Domenichino, and Wouvermans : which will be sold by auction, by Stevens and Brenchley, at the spacious room of the British coffee-house, Cockspur Street : on Friday, the 12th of August, 1831, at tweove o' clock, by order of the assignees of Messrs. Macdonald and Campbell : may be viewed on the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, preceding the sale, and quarto catalogues had at the British Coffee-House, Cockspur Street : of Messrs.
