    Each plate includes multiple etched designs by Cruikshank.
    Originally published in four parts, from 1828 to 1832, each part containing six plates. Cruikshank also published, in 1834, the first plate for "Part 5," but nothing more was published. See Cohn.

    BAC: British Art Center has 5 copies. Copies 1-3 have original printed wrappers bound in. Copy 1 is complete, containing all 4 parts and 3 pages of advertisements (verso of t.p. and final leaf). T.p. of individual parts wanting. Illustrations are uncolored. Copy 2 is incomplete, containing only the first part (6 plates). Illustrations are uncolored. George Cruikshank's autograph and dedication to W.H. Merle on title page. Copy 4 lacks the part wrappers. Plates are hand-colored. Bound in later three-quarter red morocco and red cloth. Copy 5 bound in half calf and green cloth; rebacked. Colored illustrations. Has bound with it: Illustrations of time (London : Published by the artist, May 1, 1827); and, Phenological illustrations (London : G. Cruikshank, 1826).
