After closure of the Black Lion Inn, the building became known as Scarthingmoor House, and later Goosemoor Hall.
Manuscript inn tally, in pen and black ink, for food and drink received at the Black Lion Inn, Scarthingmoor. The bill includes "dish of fish, couple of fowls, bacon & greens, neck of mutton, potatoes, jellys, cheese, bread & bacon, wine." The total bill is £ 0/19/8. -
