The reissuance of this early 19th century book advising women of the South on proper manners demonstrates the persistence of the image of the Victorian lady into the 20th century.
"The book was printed by Robert Gibbings at the Golden Cockerel Press, Waltham Saint Lawrence, Berkshire, and completed on January 17th, 1928. The text is taken from the edition published by Mr. Henry Lacey, of Liverpool. Compositors: F. Young and A.H. Gibbs. Pressman: A.C. Cooper. The edition is limited to 500 copies, of which 250 are for the United States of America."--Colophon.
