Title (Bug balls) from hand written label on front of case.
Collection of 24 hand-embroidered alpaca wool "bug balls" in a glass-fronted display case, by Claire Moynihan. Each specimen consists of an embroidered multi-colored insect atop a felt ball of varying neutral colors. The balls are neatly arranged within the case, in the manner of entomological collections, in four rows of six. Small hand-written labels provide the common name and Latin name of each insect. A unique copy (in this assemblage). -
