A brass plaque on the box lid bears the name of Eliza Briscoe. A document pocket underneath the lid contains dated and signed certificates (for 1829 and 1830) regarding Briscoe's examinations passed at Mrs Roberts & Miss Maiben's Schools, Dublin. Examination subjects include mythology, dancing, Grecian, Roman & English history, and geography.
