With 308 aquatints by and after William Daniell.
    Printed by Thomas Davison, Whitefriars.
Ayton's name does not appear on the title page of volumes 3-8, as he wrote the letterpress for volumes 1 and 2 only.--Cf. DNB
"A number of sets were issued with the plates on, or mounted on, card; the claim has been made that of this 'special' edition only twenty-five sets were issued. This is probably an underestimate, for the book in this form would have acquired a greater rarity than is actually the case. Issued originally in parts at 10s. 6d. per part: buff wrappers (see Plate II). Verso of front wrapper and both sides of back wrapper blank."--Abbey.
Abbey, J.R. Scenery of Great Britain and Ireland in aquatint and lithography, 1770-1860, 16
