Inscribed: "This book was bought by Mr. Kirkeall the Ingraver price £2:2:0 binding o: 6:0:0 and is a most Ingenious performance John Boulter." With notes, in pen and black ink, on the versos of plates 1-9, possibly in the hand of Elisha Kirkall.
    "[Stukeley] regularly attended meetings of both the Society of Antiquaries and the Royal Society, where he presented papers and 'curious' objects, often antiquarian or philosophical material resulting from the annual perambulations around the English counties that he had been making since 1711. These journeys and observations resulted in his second major publication, Itinerarium curiosum ... A second volume, Centuria II, was published posthumously in London in 1776."--Oxford Dictionary of National Biography.
