Originally published in 24 monthly parts, 1814-1816.
Added engraved title-page in v. 1 has colored vignette & imprint: London, Published March 1. 1816, by R. Ackermann, 101 Strand.
Plates are hand-colored aquatints.
"Published originally in 24 monthly numbers (3 plates to each part) and on completion issued in two volumes, royal octavo, boards, for 3 guineas. The text is by William Combe."--Cf. Tooley.
In one state, the words "Introductory dialogue" on p. [1] of v. 1 are set in hollow roman capitals, & the 1st line of the poem has the reading: "Father Time! 'tis well we're met" ; in another state the words "Introductory dialogue" are set in solid roman capitals, and the 1st line of the poem has the reading:" "Father Time! 'tis well we are met".
May have been issued to accompany "Dance of Life."
