    The plates in v. 1-3 consist of lithographs and engravings by John Richard Jobbins, Henry Adlard, Robert Charles Bell, and George Edward Madeley.
    The plates in v. [4] are comprised of 66 mounted salt prints (made with with the calotype process) by Nicolaas Henneman, and consist of reproductions of art works and title-pages.     With wood-engraved illustrations within the text, some signed: W.G. Mason.
    Deluxe issue, printed on large paper and with an added volume of mounted photographic ill. The regular issue is complete in 3 v.
    "Only twenty-five copies printed with red marginal lines, proof impressions of the plates on India paper, and two extra plates being the dedication, and the Virgin and Child, facing page 795."--P. [ii] (1st count).
    Vol. 1: [4], xliii, [1], 508 p., [5] leaves of plates; v. 2: [4], [509]-948 p., [10] leaves of plates; v. 3: [4], [949]-1481, ii, [1] p.; v. [4]: [4], xii, [2] (p. [xiv] blank), [62] leaves of plates (1 folded).
    Vol. [4] consists of lithographed t.p., letterpress t.p. (epigram and printer's colophon on verso), added t.p. (mounted photograph) with printed cartouche for presentation inscription on verso, dedication leaf (mounted photograph) with printed epigram on verso, "Preface" (p. [v]-viii), "Contents" (p. [ix]-xii), divisional title, and [62] leaves of plates.
    Vol. [4] has added illustrated title page (mounted photograph): Talbotype illustrations to the Annals of the artists of Spain. London M.DCCC.XLVII.
    Added chromolithographed architectural title-pages by J. Jobbins, printed in red, brown, and black.
    Text of v. 1-3 within red rule border; text of v. 4 printed in brown within single rule or ornamental border.
