Notes
Originally issued in 1766.
This printing is the last to use Stubbs' original plates. After Stubbs died in 1806 his plates were inherited by Mary Spencer. After her death in 1817 the plates were sold at auction and were republished almost immediately by Edward Orme in July 1817. The plates were used again after Orme's death by Henry Bohn. Cf. Boyd.
Printed by G. Norman, Maiden Lane, Covent Garden.
Boyd, C.L. George Stubbs, p. 42
