- Each piece is carefully trimmed around the outline of the plant parts. Pieces are affixed to the herbarium sheet with adhesive and white thread (tied over plant stems).

BAC: British Art Center copy is no. 2 of 10. Screenprinted label completed in graphite: "Title/no. [Buttercup 2/10]. Location [Temple Hall, East Lothian]. Date [19th May 2009]." Signed and dated (2009) by the artist on the reverse, in graphite.
The composition comprises four buttercup plants, of varying fullness, three of which bear flowers. At top right, enclosed within a small folded sheet, are the etched images of three detached buttercup petals.
