In 1876, the banking firm Herries, Farquhar, Chapman & Co. was active at 16 St. James' Street, S.W. See: F.G. Hilton Price. A nandbook of London bankers, 1890-1891.

Bound in contemporary vellum, inscribed by Peyton
Records banking transactions from February 14, 1876, to June 2, 1880. Accompanied by St. Antony Guide packet of stamps (largely unused) and a card bearing the seal of the Carlton Club.
