The autographs were compiled by Henry Eyre, registrar at the Royal Academy (from 1849 to 1884). Some autographs are entered directly on the pages of the album; others are on small strips of paper (from other sources) pasted on to the album pages.
The album is divided into three parts. The first, pages 1-24, contains the autographs of 144 Acadamecians. The second part, pages 25-37, contains autographs of 179 associates. The third part, pages 38-41, lists the names of honorary members and professors, for which 9 autographs are present.
