Although paged separately, sections on Naples and Sicily have no separating half title or title page, or caption title.
Dedicated to Gaspar de Bracamonte, conde de Peñaranda de Bracamonte signed Joannes Blaeu, Amstelædamensis and gives the title as: Theatrum civitatum et admirandorum Neapolis et Siciliae regnorum.
Plate of Calatia (between p. 55 & 56) bears imprint: Amstelædami, Ioannes Blaeu excudebat.
Includes [2] folded leaves of plates preceding the main text. Most of other plates are on double leaves (which form 4 pages each) with text printed on versos. Those 2 pages with text are numbered in normal order, while 2 engraved pages inside (1 double page ill.) are missing in numbering.
Some duplicating of page nos. (e.g., 51, 52, 51b, 52, 51, 52b).
Plate 'Napoli' signed Bastiaen Stopendaal; plate 'Neapolis et Vesuvii montis prospectus' signed G. Houfnaglius.
