Notes:
The name of "Professor Groves" appears in connection with at least two panoramas incorporating moving automaton figures, including the work described in the present broadside and an "Animated Diorama of all Parts of the World," Cheltenham, 1840. See: Hyde, R. Dictionary of panoramists of the English-speaking world, 2015.
The content of the diorama described in the present broadside appears very similar to that of a diorama produced by Moses Gompertz (1812 or 1813-1893). The diorama by Gompertz was exhibited in May, 1858, at St. James's Hall, Piccadilly.
Title from head of broadside.
Includes information on performance times and admission costs.

Broadside continues: "Grand mechanical and pictorial temple of wonders illustrative of the most interesting parts of the world, animated with beautiful moving automaton figures of men, women, and children in the oriental costume, also horses and carriages, elephants, camels, and other animals ... Part I. Consists of a series of representations of the Holy Land ... Part II. Is a most beautiful representation of the Shrine of the Holy Nativity ...
