The name of "Professor Groves" appears in connection with at least two panoramas incorporating moving automaton figures, including the work described in the present broadside and an "Animated Diorama of all Parts of the World," Cheltenham, 1840. See: Hyde, R. Dictionary of panoramists of the English-speaking world, 2015.
The content of the diorama described in the present broadside appears very similar to that of a diorama produced by Moses Gompertz (1812 or 1813-1893). The diorama by Gompertz was exhibited in May, 1858, at St. James's Hall, Piccadilly.

A grand moving diorama of India, illustrative of the rebellion of the Sepoys, and great war in India! Animated with wonderful mechanical figures ..."
