Transcription, with manuscript text noted in square brackets: "Shipped, by the Grace of God, in good Order and condition by [G. Armistead] in upon the good ship called the [Adolphus] whereof is Master, under God, for this present voyage, [Johann Popp] and now riding at Anchor in the [Roads of Heligoland] and by God's Grace, bound for [Gothenburg or any other port or ports in the Baltic Lay] [T & R fifty bales cottonwool. T & R three bales cottonwool] being marked and numbered as in the margin, and are to be delivered in the like order and condition at the aforesaid Port of [Gothenburg or other] (The Act of God, the King's Enemies, Fire, and all other and every then dangers and accidents of the seas, and of navigation, of whatever nature and kind soever excepted) unto [Order] or to [my] assigns, he or they paying freight for the said goods [as of agreement] with Primage and average accustomed. In witness whereof he Master or Purser of the ship [both] affirmed to [2] bills of lading, all of this tenor and date ; the one of which [2] bills being accomplished, the other [1] to stand void. And so God send the good ship to her desired Port in safety. Amen. Dated in [Heligoland 11th October 1810] [Johann Popp]
