BAC: British Art Center copy housed with a second pin (photographic) mourning the death of Queen Victoria (GT2280 .P2b Flat)
The pin is in the form of small flag, with black pinhead and black tassel at top. The body of the pin is a printed textile (silk?) over stiff paper. On one side is a circular image of Queen Victoria, against a white background with mourning border. The image may be derived from a photographic portrait of the Queen by Alexander Bassano (1882). The verso bears printed text within a mourning border: "In memory of our beloved Queen. Born May 24th, 1819, died Jan. 22nd, 1901. Reigned 68 yrs. 216 days."
