The drawings, primarily in graphite, depict scenery and people in Switzerland and France. Most of the locations appear to be rural. Named locations include: Chaumont, Plainchis, Serroue, and Dombresson. Some of the drawings are dated or have brief annotations.
The album includes a letter addressed to Charlotte from her "affectionate friend, Emily Buchanan of Pontefract," written in Neuchatel on February 6, 1839.
