Bound in red leather with gilded edges and white moiré endleaves. Pages are attached to red tabs at the spine.
Approximately 36 of the pages are decorated with elaborate boarders or accompanied by drawings, many of which feature embellishments in color. Decorative elements depict cemeteries, landscapes, ocean scenery, plants, and other framing devices. Some of the photographs are also annotated in graphite or ink with possible names and affiliated locations. Names include Melfort Primrose, C.W.L. Strickland, Major Whitehill, Jessie Whitehill neé Campbell, Muriel Baldwin, Tollemache, Irving, Sir Keeves, Aunt Louie, and Mrs. M. Baldwin. Two photographs are annotated with "1870?" and "1875?" in graphite.
