Each volume has special half title with volume designation at top and bottom. These half title page read: Naaukeurige versameling der gedenk-waardigste reysen na Oost en West-Indiën, mitsgaders andere gewesten gedaan, and is then followed by the years of the voyages and travels covered therein.
"Noodig voor-berigt", "Register", and "Privilegien", v. 1, p. [5-50], 1st count, also published separately in Leiden, 1706 under title: Korte schets van get geheele werk, genaamd Naaukeurige versameling.
Van der Aa's collection of travels and voyages is divided into 28 volumes, with vol. 13 being printed in two separate ones, and consists of 127 parts, each having special dated title page, separate pagination and register. The date of imprint varies with about two-thirds dated 1706, one-third 1707, five have no date and one is dated 1708, as is also the "Noodig na-berigt" preceding the final "Register der zee- en land-reysen" in the 28th volume. The general title pages are all dated 1707. The voyages covering the period from 1246 to 1696 are arranged chronologically. The printing of a folio edition containing these voyages arranged according to the nations, was begun simultaneously with this edition but was suspended. A projected collection of Dutch voyages never appeared. The voyage of the Dutch traveller J.J. de Roy to Borneo and Achin was probably printed before van der Aa decided to publish the series of Dutch travels separately. With various other voyages later excluded from the collection, it is quoted in the preliminary register, printed in the first volume but omitted in the final index.
Includes indexes.
Half-title and title page leaves printed in red and black; engraved title page vignettes; initials.
