"The book was originally issued in parts, and it will be seen from the imprint dates that there was a break of eight years before the work was completed. This break is shown also in the text watermarks, which up to Chapter IV are dated 1805, and thereafter 1818. No plate, however, carries a watermark date earlier than 1818, while the frontispiece watermark is dated 1823 ..."--Abbey. The plates have imprints dated 1811 or 1819.
Includes 25 leaves of plates. The first 23 are part of the numbered sequence; the order, however, is jumbled. The final two are lettered 'A' and 'B'. For details, see Abbey.
