Copy 1, Abbey Life 246, is a large paper copy, bound (2 v. in 1) in gilt-stamped smooth calf, with gilt armorial corner pieces with mongramed initials SX on upper and lower boards; marbled edges. Label mounted on rebacked front pastedown: E. 5. Inscribed: From the Cassiobury Park Library of the Earl of Essex. Monogram and crest on binding.
BAC: British Art Center copies 2 and 3 are small paper copies in 2 v. Copy 2 is the Abbey copy; bound in gilt-stamped smooth calf. Bookplate: Frederick Perkins. Chipstead Place Kent. Inscribed: John Ashtonbase. Binder's label: Bound by B. Frye. Copy 3 is bound in original blue paper boards, with publisher's printed spine labels.
