Pollard, A.W. Short-title catalogue of books printed in England, Scotland, & Ireland and of English books printed abroad, 1475-1640 (2nd ed.), 24481
English short title catalogue, S102649
BAC: British Art Center copy imperfect: lacks first leaf. The text is considerably marked up, with amendments in ink (to spellings, etc.). Has bound with it the 10 maps originally issued in 1589 as Expeditionis Hispanorum in Angliam vera descriptio, but here they are in different version. The version appears closer to that in which the maps were issued as part of The tapestry hangings of the House of lords representing the several engagements between the English and Spanish fleets (1739), but there appear to be differences (in cartouches, etc.). The map borders are trimmed. Also has bound with it a manuscript of Philip Morant's An account of the Spanish invasion in the year MDLXXXVII, which was also published with The tapestry hangings (1739), pages 1-23.
