The letterpress was extracted from v. 6 of A new and complete history of Essex (Chelmsford, M. Hassall, 1769-1772) and issued with a separate t.-p. and a map.
The paper on which the t.-p. is printed is watermarked 1819.
The map, which was engraved by J. Roper from a drawing by G. Cole under the direction of J. Britton, has the imprint: London, Published for the proprietors, by Vernor & Hood, 1805. It was initially intended to accompany The beauties of England and Wales (London, 1801-1816).
