James Davis Cooper, the wood engraver, was located at 188 Strand between 1866-1872. He worked with the firm of Richard Clay during the 1860s & published at least 2 other titles. Hodson could be James Shirley Hodson, a relief aquatint printer, although there is no evidence that he worked with Cooper.--cf. Wakeman, G. 19th century colour printers.
