This is an adaptation of George Macfarren's Don Quixote, first produced at Drury Lane in 1846, which in turn was a translation and adaptation of the work by Cervantes. It was first published as a juvenile drama sometime after 1850 by John Redington, who was in business 1850-1876.
The firm of J. Redington was taken over by Benjamin Pollock in 1876. Pollock reissued Redington's plays with his own imprint.--cf. Speaight, p. 191.
