Autograph letter, signed, dated March 2d and addressed to "My dear Robert," apologizing for Hullmandel's inability to pay a debt he owed the recipient. This he explains by having had "in hand at the same time the three largest works I have ever had to execute & all begun last July & September"; of these "one is only brought out at the end of April, another is also just delivered & the third will appear on the 15th of May". The letter was apparently sent with a book, which, according to Hullmandel, "owes a small portion of its beauty & of the perfection with which it imitates drawings, to an important invention of mine" (presumably a reference to Hullmandel's invention of the lithographic process).
