Manuscript commonplace book compiled by Harriett Sargeannt. The volume contains poems, essays, epistles, quotes, and excerpts from plays, novels, and newspaper articles. Many of the entries are accompanied by an engraving that has been pasted into the volume or a watercolor drawing of a flower. A number of the entries and engravings appear to be from contemporary gift books, including the Anniversary edited by Allan Cunningham; the Bijou: an Annual of Literature and the Arts; and the Amulet: a Christian and Literary Remembrancer edited by Samuel Carter Hall. The entries are often signed at the end with Sargeannt's initials or with her first name and last initial. The last page of the volume is signed with her name in full, possibly spelled as "Harriett Sargeannt, Old Brompton, August 19th 1830."
