A catalogue of the entire collection of capital pictures : the property of John Maitland, Esq., deceased, removed from Woodford Hall, Essex : which have been by him selected with great taste and judgment, during a series of many years, from the following cabinets : The Halifax : Holderness : Godolphin : the Orleans : Le Brun : Geldermeester : Sir George Young's : the Udney : Hulse : Hankey : Paul Benfield : Armstrong, &c. &c. : which (by order of the executors) will be sold by auction, by Messrs. Christie & Manson, at their Great Room, 8, King Street, St. James's Square, on Saturday, July the 30th, 1831, precisely at one o'clock : may be viewed two days preceding, and catalogues had, price 1s., of Messrs Winstanley, POaternoster Row : and of Messrs Christie & Manson, King Street, St. James's Square.

2. A catalogue of the superlatively fine collection of pictures, late the property of the Right Reverend Dr. Newton, Lord Bishop of Bristol, dec. : amongst which are some of the best works of the Italian school, formerly purchased for his Lordship by that well known connoisseur, Dr. Bragg, at the sale of the celebrated collection of the late Cardinal Ottoboni at Rome, including a valuable assemblage of Dutch and Flemish pictures, the property of a Gentleman going abroad : also a most capital Descent from the Cross, by Vandyck, and other first-rate performances, collected in Spain, by Richard Cumberland, Esq : likewise that chef d'oeuvre, representing the death of Chatham, with the portraits of several peers and members of the house of commons, painted by J.S. Copley, Esq. R.A. together with forty-two capital pictures just imported from abroad, and several more, some being brought to sale in conformity to the will of a nobleman, and others being the property of different gentlemen : which will be exhibited and sold (by private contract) by a committee appointed for that purpose, at the Great Rooms, late the Royal Academy, No. 125, Pall Mall, on Tuesday, April 8, 1788, and following days (Sundays excepted) till about the middle, or latter end of May following, from nine o'clock in the morning till seven in the evening.

Bassano : ... gallery picture, by V. Dyck : and others by O. Veronses, Carracci, A. Ostade, and Hobbima : the above (by order of the Administrator, and under an oath obtained from the Court of Chancery,) will be sold by auction, by Mr. Christie, at his Great Room, No. 8, King Street, St. James's Square, on Saturday, May the 6th, 1826, at two o'clock precisely : may be viewed two days preceding, when catalogues may be had of Mr. Christie, No. 8, King Street, St. James's Square.
