Full Size"; in black ink, upper right: "Detail of Superfrontal + fringe altar front | Full Size" : in black ink, notes over elevation; in black ink, upper right: "The work to be done on 4 quarter flax (doubled | so as to make it stiff and thick) the flax to be | [?stielded] on a small frame, the outline of the | embroydery based on it, and then the back done | acending to the directions here given. | when done the work must be cut out as more the | size as poossible without damaging the work. and | applique on the Velvet & Silk and bound | round with thick black flors belk stitched down | with black sewing silk."
