?Inscribed in pen and brown ink, center: "Original sketches by Sir Joshua Reynolds bought by me | at the sale of his pictures sketches & belongings to his Niece the | Marchioness of Thormond after her decease in 1820 at Which | sale also bought an unfinished pofait of a Lady in a | black bonnet- an unfinished portrait of a nobleman in a [Harley?] | with a blue Ribbon & [sham?]-and the portait of Sir Joshua- all | three quarter size & painted by him and the picture of | the disobedient prophet slain, by the Lion painted by Rembrandt | which former part of S?ir Joshua's Collection of pictures | Thos. Tudor"
