Rigaud fecit 1736 | PROSPECT OF HAMPTON-COURT from the Garden side | This is a very noble Royal Palace situate upon the River Thames about twelve miles above London, it was built by Cardinal Wolsey, | and being forfeited With his other Estates to Henry VIII, has bilong'd to under the Crown eversince, considerable additions have | been Made to it under several Reigns, but the new part of the structure is owing mostly to King William 3e | a Paris chez lauteur rue St.Jacques vis avis le Pless[is]"; lettered, lower right: "VEUE DU CHATEAU D'HAMPTON-COURT du cote du Jardin | Ceci est un superbe Palais Royal place sur le bord de la Tamise a cinq petites lieues environ au dessus de la Ville de Londre. Il | fut bati par le Cardinal Wolsey, aiant ete confisque et autres biens adjacents au profit de la Couronne par Henry VIII Il ya ete du | depuis ajoute plusieurs choses sous differents Regnes, et ce qu'il y a de nouvelement construit est atribue au Roy Guillaume 3e."
