Mount: 8 11/16 x 6 7/16 inches (22.1 x 16.4 cm) and Sheet: 6 3/4 x 4 9/16 inches (17.1 x 11.6 cm)

Inscribed in pen in brown ink, on support sheet, upper center: "From Old Jack Bannister 65 Gowen St. | to his Young Friend Wm. Henderson"; in black ink, image sheet, upper left: "TEL" (collectors stamp); in dark gray ink, on image sheet, lower right: "Sketch'd from Mm. Bannister Jun. {?] in his Dressing | Room at Drury Lane- Dec. 23-83--"; verso: in brown ink, center right: "Wit be the Prologue which adorns his head | and frame his final epilogue when dead"; in graphite, center: "Long and brilliant be the prologue | Long (in coming) [too?] the Epilogue"
