Explanation of the view of the splendid victory gained by the Marquis of Wellington over the French army, consisting of 65,000 men, commanded by Joseph Bonaparte, on the plains of Vittoria : the view, painted by Henry Aston Barker and assistants, from drawings taken on the spot by Mr. Burford, is now exhibiting in the great rotunda of the Panorama, Leicester Square.

9. Panorama, Leicester Square : this upper painting represents Weymouth, taken in 1805, when his Majesty was last there, from the outer pier : at which time the Abergavenny was seen as represented, with barges round her saving what property could be taken up : the flags at the mast-heads add so much to the beauty of the royal sovereign yacht, that it is hoped the public will excuse the liberty taken in keeping them up after His Majesty has left her, which is never done in the reality : the lower painting represents Lord Nelson's glorious victory, gained over the French and Spanish fleets, off Trafalgar, painted upon ten thousand square feet of canvas.
