A catalogue of a valuable and interesting collection of high-finished modern pictures and drawings, framed and glazed : being the genuine and entire stock of an eminent publisher, retiring from business : among the paintings, are The Lord of the Vineyard, and Death of Sapphira, by Opie : original finished studies of wild animals by Northcote : an exquisite small modem of the Storming of Seringapaam, and a ditto the Death of Abercrombie, by R. K. Porter : Howard visiting the Prison, by Wheatley : and various historical, popular and fancy subjects, by Angelica, Wheatley, Morland, Fuseli, Tresham, Stothard, Cosway, Singleton, Benwell, Bigg, Naysmith, Schweickhardt, Jones, Farrington, Marlow, Hodges : the drawings are chiefly by Cipriani, Bartolozzi, Zuccarelli, Hamilton, Stothard, Wheatley, Ker Porter, Loutherbourg, Girtin, Hearne, Sandby, La Porte, Walmsley, Payne, Pocock : also, a small assemblage of architectural and other drawings, framed and glazed : loose prints and books of ditto : a choice collection of plaister casts and busts, from the antique, brought from Rome by an artist : mathematical instruments : skins of vellum for drawing : drawing implements, &c. : a small collection of pictures by Old Masters : and without reserve, sixty copper plates, never published, designed as a supplement to the Vitruvius Britannicus, being elevations of buildings executed by eminent architects : which will be sold by auction by Mr. Christie, at his Great Room, Pall Mall, on Friday, 24th February, 1809, and following day, at twelve o'clock.

483. A catalogue of the magnificent collection of Italian, French, Flemish, and Dutch pictures : the genuine and sole property of the late Walsh Porter, Esq. Dec. : celebrated for his taste and spirit in collection : this superb assemblage, well known to the more distinguished Cognoscenti, but which has never been generally exhibited, will open a splendid treat to the lovers of fine arts, and the public : it comprises specimens of nearly all the great Masters of ever foreign school, scarcely to be equaled by even the finest that have been consigned to this country within the last ten years : the very renowned original picture, the Bacchus and Ariadne of Titian : and the celebrated galley picture of Rubens and his Family, as St. George and other Saints, from the Balbi Palace at Genoa, ... : the other leading chef d'oeuvres are two original specimens of Raphael : the Odeschalchi, Corregio : Holy Families by L. 486. A catalogue of the genuine and very capital cabinet of choice Italian, French, Flemish and English pictures, original drawings, and articles of ancient sculpture, of the late Hon. C. F. Greville, F. R. and A. S. &c. &c. &c. Dec. : which were collected by him with a design to illustrate the progress of painting, and its perfection by the Masters of the great Italian and other schools : in the former point of view they display a rare and highly curious series from Cimabue to Raphael : the specimens in which were selected from authentic situations, and many of them are cited in the biography of the authors of them : the perfection of the act is exemplified in various chef d'oeuves of the finest class and in the purest condition : of which the most distinguished are, by Correggio, a Head, a genuine fresco : Raphael, Venus, Vulcan and Cupid, a beautiful cabinet picture : S. Del Piombo, a portait : Baroccio, the Marriage of St. Catherine, a lovely gem : The Chess Players, Titian : Mars and Venus, P. Veronese : I. Carracci, a small Holy Family with Saints, an exquisite Bijou : N. Poussin, a small classical subject, equal to Domenichino : Ruben's, the Loves of the Centaurs : a perfect and unrivalled performance : two by Teniers : a brilliant landscape by Both : and The Celebrated Niobe by Wilson : also, a capital marble statue of Pudicitia, size of life : and a head from the Villa of Adrian : which (by order of the administrator, and permission of the lessor,) will be sold by auction, by Mr. Christie, on the premises, near the Church, at Paddington Green, on Saturday, March 31, 1810, punctually at one o'clock.

496. A catalogue of a most superb, capital, and valuable collection of Italian, French, Flemish and Dutch pictures : the property of a Gentleman, highly distinguished for his taste in the arts : the whole selected with unbounded liberality, and now brought from his seat at Fonthill, in Wiltshire : consisting of inestimable works of the following great masters, viz : Spagnoletto, A. Durer, Sa. Rosa, Guido, Murillo, D. Feti, C. Lorrain, Seb. Bourdon, Canaletti, Zuccarelli, Rembrandt, Ostade, Wouvermans, Both, V. Der Heyde, C. du Jardin, Ruysdael, Wynants, De Vlieger, Polemborgh, Teniers, V. der Meulen, Webber, Loutherbeourg : among the celebrated pictures in this collection, are the following distinguished and capital : the Rape of Deianira, by Paduanino, one of the noblest efforts of genius in the Venetian School, both for colouring and design : the Holy Family, by Murillo, a very elegant composition, full of grace and simplicity : the Death of Socrates, by S. Rosa : a Landscape with St. Francis preaching : and a sea port by ditto : and Lucretia, by Guido, very capital : amongst the moderns, are eight capital and much distinguished pictures of the Rake's Progress, by the immoral Hogarth, esteemed the finest of his works : a pair of elegant and splendid cabinets, with the subjects of Cupid and Psyche, painted by Smirke : also four tripods, or exquisite workmanship : which will be sold by auction, by Mr. Christie, at his Great Room, Pall Mall, on Saturday, February the 27th 1802, at twelve o'clock.
